We're very excited to be carrying some LOCAL yarn! Woodstock Knits, Cheltenham Cottage, and Jill Draper Yarns!

Woodstock Knits is an online source for HandPainted, Kettle Dyed and Organic and Natural Yarns created by Heidi Quick in America's most famous nearby town of Woodstock.  The Hand Painted color ways are playfully named after Woodstock local hamlets and streets.  

Cheltenham Cottage recently relocated from Los Angeles to Saugerties.  Mariepaule and husband, Arturo, originally from Switzerland, have settled in Saugerties, as it feels a bit more like "home".   While Mariepaule processes and hand dyes, hand spins, and knits, her husband creates amazing needle fiber art figures.  Mariepaule spent a few days with us at the shop spinning angora directly from her rabbits, Carre & Black Jack - truly a site to see.   She'll be teaching lace knitting classes for us as well as supplying us with kits, including patterns and her gorgeous yarn that she spins and hand dyes.  We also carry Arturo's needle felted creations in the shop.

Jill Draper hand paints, spins, she's a designer and a teacher. Her patterns have been published in books and magazines such as Interweave Knits, Knitting Today, Knit 1 and "Find Your Style and Knit it Too!"   Aren't we lucky to have her right here in the Hudson Valley!   Her yarn will begin arriving to the Perfect Blend around mid April.  You can see some of her products on Etsy at jilldrapermakesstuff, but if you want to see it, feel it, touch it....stop by the shop.   Some time early summer we plan to have Jill teach a class or two, stay tuned.
